The things I love about winter!

While fall is my favorite season because you get to pretty much combine all the seasons wardrobes into one. (Leggings, boots, skirts and dresses, cute jackets, flats and shorts-when it's still a bit warm.) I do really love winter, and no not just because of Christmas. I love winter dressing, although I am trudging around campus trying to stay warm- I have decided that I will become a fashionable snow bunny. I have posted, som pics to the right, of my new winter must haves, that are warm and fashionable. Enjoy!

You have got to Check this Out!!!!!

Ok so I'm checking my usual blog updates, keeping up with their personal lives or new fashion must-haves and I stumble upon this great blog! http://mydownlowlife.blogspot.com is about this woman who has discovered her husband is cheating and decided to go on her own sexcapade. She posts about her career, husband, and her new lover (who is a hip hop star) I guess you could call it a hip hop love triangle.
But I'll stop here because I don’t want to tell you too much (or risk copyright issues), so please check the site out for more, you won't be disappointed.

From the Mind of Nina Garcia

Now I know that everyone is not as addicted to Project Runway, as I am. So let me catch you up on the fabulous Nina Garcia. Not only is she is a judge on Project Runway but she is the former editor of Elle magazine, and currently the Fashion Director at Marie Claire. Nina has been guiding the readers from the runway to their closet for over a year, but she has finally topped herself! In the September issue, Nina has put together her top shopping tips....and here they are.
1. Take inventory-If you try on your own clothes, and learn to mix and match. You won't be so prone to shopping for things you don't actually need.
2. Make a need list- After you take inventory of your closet, make a list of what you need, not what you want. Try to stock up on the basics, like a classic white shirt or a new little black dress.
3. Invest in the essentials- Splurge on things that will last for years. Like a nice coat. (Sidebar:Yes, at this time it's hard to spend more than $100 on anything and as a college student I know. But it makes more sense to spend money on something that will last, than be cheap and replace the item two months later.)
Nina provides readers with essential fashion advice every month...so stay tuned for more.

So I think I may be a little obsessed with this woman. I just love her edge! And I want to prove to everyone, that unlike people think...Rihanna did not come up with the new style she is rocking. If you look at the pic above, you see a much better version of Ri Ri's do. Now...forgive me for coming off as a hater, because I do value Rihanna as a style icon. But please people give credit, where credit is due.Sunday, August 16, 2009

On it's way to greatness!

So my friend's mom started this great website, that features her very affordable and very beautiful Jewelry. That in her mind is actually pretty ugly lol, not really but that's the name of her site. http://prettyuglyjewels.com/index.php Now in all honestly the Jewels are anything but ugly, and truly worth every penny. In fact I have a eye on the pretty pair of earrings pictured above. Hopefully my bank account will allow me to treat myself to these. Stay tuned to find out if I get them. And until then, check out all the pretty things at>>>http://prettyuglyjewels.com/index.php.
Today is the last day to vote for me as cutest blog.

Behind the Scenes of Fashion Is Life
(Flyer from last year's show) This fall I am apart of the planning committee of The 2nd Annual Fashion Is Life. The show will be at Kent State on October 1st, and I have to admit I can't wait til October 2nd. I mean I love fashion shows but I have come to realize this: planning a fashion show is a whole other ball park than just sitting in the audience. Once school starts we will be caught in a whirlwind of model calls, rehearsals, and fittings. I know this sounds like a lot but it's actually a fun and educational experience. That's why I'm starting a countdown to the show. Up until October 1st, I will be posting everything that goes on behind the scenes of the show, from the planning process to actual pictures from backstage. I want to inspire you readers to go out and get involved in fashion, as well as give you a chance to know the great people that are helping me make this show a success. There will be more to come, so stay tuned!!

Friend Spots-Christopher(yellow boy)

Way before this dating nonsense came along we were honest with each other about everything, he even tells me things I'd care not to hear, lol. So this is for you Birthday boy. Stay Tuned for more.
